At first, I was going to give my daughter her dad's last name. I'm thankful I didn't go that route. She has my last name. I also believe it depends on the situation in which case mine wasn't a good one and I wasn't giving him anything.

I would do both. When my fiancé and I get married I'm hypenating my last name and I would love for my kids to have my father's last name and carry it on as well. I mean if they just want dad's last name they can change it when they turn 18 lol

Depends on the situation. My angel baby had her dads last name even though I only ended up pregnant after a one night stand. And we are using a sperm donor and any children will have DH's last name. But it all really depends.

My friend is married and kept her last name.  She just has a baby and they didn't know the gender. Her and hubby decided that if it was a girl it we have Moms let name and Dads last name if it was a boy. I thought it was very cool!!! It's your choice.

If it's a very serious relationship that will more than likely result in marriage, then dad's. If it's even a semi serious thing, mine. You can always change it to dad's when you get married.

If my so and I weren't together or if he didn't want a part in my son's life I would give my baby my last name, sense we plan on getting married, he's taking his dads.
