Csection??

Question

Should I go with a csection or vaginal? I am soooo scared to do vaginal bc my hips are so tiny and I have heard horror stories about ripping. I wish there was an easier option to get this baby out. I am terrified that I'm going to die. How bad is a csection??

Omg I have had two sections and one vaginal and the vaginal is far less painful as the section! Ok you can't feel it but the after pain is horrible! Don't be scared it's such a brilliant experience. These women who opted for sections are bonkers and cowards!

I've had 4 of them and only get worse each time. I wish I could of had my boys natural but I wouldn't dilate. Just have a natural birth. That's what are bodies are ment for :) and you won't end up with a scar

Don't do csection....it's terrible and the recovery sucks! My son is 2 and I still have pain someone's. Vaginal is MUCH safer and easier for mommas and babies and the recovery is quick! Even if you tear... a small tear and a few stitches down there is so much better than layers of your muscles and skin being cut open, your baby being ripped out and then your tummy being stapled shut. C sections are good for emergency purposes but be prepared to be in pain afterwards. Good luck hun!

I had a scheduled section and I had no problems. It went smooth, the scar is so very faint (I had staples) and I was only in recovery for 45 minutes then I went back to the room with my baby boy. Yes Recovery is longer than natural birth but I had no issues and will be going with another section for my next.

Elective c-sections are linked to SIDS, incidence of RSV and longer hospital even NICU stays. Your body is designed incredibly to handle all that is pregnancy and birth- only a very small percentage of women actually need the c-section they get. It's major abdominal surgery. They cut you open, pull out your uterus and any bowel on top of it at the time, cut your uterus open and birth the baby into sterile gloves and bright lights and medical equipment. Then they show you the baby (most times, if everything goes well) but you can't hold it because you're IN THE MIDDLE OF SURGERY. Then your husband or partner leaves with the baby as you're getting sewn up. There is major risk for infection and it can also lead to impaired breast feeding. Recovery is not fun- on top of having a new life 100% dependent on you. If I can stress anything as a nurse I will stress this- elective surgery of ANY kind is not safe and especially not when you factor in a newborn you need to care for!!

I think you should talk to a midwife. Your body is made for giving birth... A C-sectio is a MAJOR surgery.... MUCH MORE risky for the mother than a vaginal birth!!! If you are scared because of the risk of a little tearing.... Com on, it's just about 0,2 - 0,4 inces - IF it happens..... Your scar will be 20 times deeper and 3 inches long... And most woman get numb around the scar, lifelong..... A C- section is recommendet only for life saving! Get informed before you panic about a natural thing.

I think you should educate yourself further about the differences and risks of both types of deliveries. There are different degrees of tearing and that's something you should also read up on. You should also educate yourself on bones and their actual sizes. Women are made to birth babies. And your body usually doesn't make something bigger than you can handle.

I had my son by emergency c section and I did fine on recovery. Now that I'm pregnant with my second and last baby, I was given the option of a VBAC or another c section. I did my research and found that a VBAC can be dangerous and that most doctors prefer you to have another c section which is fine with me. (VBAC- vaginal birth after cesarean) you will only get a c section if you are having problems and can't deliver natural. Hope this helps.

C-section is definitely not the easy way out. Your body was made to give birth naturally, and so if there are no complications, then you should follow it. I had to have a c-section for my son (scheduled) due to complications, and while the surgery went smoothly and I healed as I should, it was awful!!!! I was in absolute agony for at least a week, couldn't do anything, I still get pains, it took ages for the muscles in that area to repair and strengthen, and overall it was so clinical and not at all personal. Once my son was delivered I didn't see him for 3 HOURS! And when they did bring him in, my body was in so much shock from the surgery and drugs, I can't remember a thing now. I am pregnant with my 2nd now, and so far it is all complication free. If this continues, I plan on doing everything I possibly can to have a natural.

I would recommend doing a lot of research before going into birth. There are lots of things you can do ahead of time to prep your body for an easier vaginal birth with less risk of a c-section. Here's a short list of things that help to know:

1. Regular chiropractic care during pregnancy helps keep your hips loose and properly aligned for birth. Your body naturally produces hormones to all your hips to expand, and all of your joints will loosen and spread. However, tension in your back and pelvis can keep this from happening properly. Chiropractic care is your best bet to ensure everything is in order.

2. Watch your posture. Look into something called "baby spinning" for an explanation of how to help make sure your little one is in the best position for birth.

3. Practice squats and strengthen your legs by walking and doing some prenatal yoga. Your body labors and dilates more efficiently in an upright position. Squatting is ideal, so if you can build strength ahead of time you'll be in great shape for labor!

4. Learn perineal massage and practice it before birth. This technique helps to stretch the opening of the vagina and perineum (area between the vagina and anus), reducing the risk of tearing.

5. Try to avoid being induced, if possible. Your body won't labor as efficiently if it's not ready. Staying home as long as possible in early labor also helps prevent interventions from being necessary.

That being said, a simple Google search will give lots of more ideas. There are lots of ways to prepare your body and mind for birth, reducing your fear of the unknown. Good luck!
