Am I wrong?

There's this guy that I've liked for a while but then I found out he has severe anger issues and bipolar disorder and that makes me reluctant to date him. Am I wrong for not wanting to date someone with mental health issues? I honestly don't think I could handle it and I wouldn't be much help. I understand that people with mental health problems can't control the fact that they have problems. It's not like they choose to have them but sometimes people who have them can treat you badly and use mental health as an excuse or they'll try to get you to feel sorry for them. My brother's girlfriend for example is bipolar and (he won't say so) but she treats him like trash. And he's threatened to break up with her before but she used her condition to make him feel bad into staying. I told him he shouldn't stay and make himself miserable just because she has issues. I know it sounds harsh and I'm not at all saying people with mental illnesses don't deserve love, I'm just saying not everyone is built to be with people who have them. What do you guys think?
