Relationship advice

Okay so my bf are about to be at 5 months this month with our relationship. I've never had a serious relationship like this one or have had one last this long. We fell In love with one another and we live together. Since we been together we've probably have had three dates alone and like two other dates with another couple. We have been broke and not able to do much. He always plays his PlayStation which is fine that's not the point just stating it. He's a people person and hates being alone. His friend is always over. Which I'm beginning to just get over it because he has given us alone time when I've asked and he invites me to live here with him so I'm going to store complaining. Anyways we've gone through ups and downs and I've pushed him away but what relationship hasn't gone through tough times but things are back to normal now. I've never been in a relationship where we reach that "mellow" stage he says. I asked him if I've ruined anything with all my complaining and I've already known to know that he's honest with me and he said no. I also said do you feel like this relationship lacks communication and he said no but we are in a mellow stage I've gone through that with every girl I dated and I was like okay. So it makes me feel better but I feel our relationship is stuck and downtowns find it hard to make communication ...is it probably because we haven't actually gotten to do many things together? He said to me he fell in love with me and what not and I did too and you wouldn't fall in love with someone if there was no connection. Right? Please tel me we are just in a phase and it's up to us to work on it and grow. Our sex life is amazing by the way lol.
