what is a let down?

What is let down, i keep seeing alot of post about it.. Somthing like when your milk leaks? Cuz this happens to me all the time before i start babies feeding nd while she is latched to one breast the other leaks like crazy... Is it bad that it happens?

That is letdown, and it is normal. You may or may not keep leaking after awhile. I still do almost 8 months in, but not nearly as much as those early weeks.

Your baby latched and sucks to stimulate a letdown. The letdown is when milk flows out and baby doesn't have to work as hard. You will see baby gulp during letdown instead of sucking when baby initially latches.
The letdown is what baby wants. You can have multiple letdowbs if baby keeps sucking. My dd only ever worked for 1 letdown and than would unlatch and want the second side to get that letdown too.
The other breast will often leak when it lets down. You can pinch your nipple and hold the squeeze for a few seconds and that will stop it from leaking.

A let down is when the milk starts flowing a lot. Both boobs let down at the same time so this is why you see the other boob leaking. It goes away after 6-8 weeks but sometimes it doesnt. I'm 6 months breastfeeding and my other boob still let's down occasionally when I breastfeed my daughter.
