I'm 40+1 today and had midwife appointment where a stretch and sweep was offered. I wanted this done but on examination although baby's head is low down, my cervix is posterior so a stretch and sweep couldn't be done. It was so painful. I have been booked in to go back next Tuesday to see if things have changed and possibly have a sweep done then. It's left me rather disheartened. Anyone else experienced this? Anyone know if there's anything I can do to help it along?
