Emergency c section vs scheduled c section recovery?

There is a chance I'll need an emergency c section during delivery. Is the recovery any different for an emergency c section as opposed to a scheduled one?

Answer

No it's the same. Your mind set may be different but the recovery will be the same because it's still a c-section. You will have mentally prepared for a scheduled one. Are you attempting a VBAC?

Actually it is different! If you have laboured recovery is harder because your body is already strained from it. I'm having an elective (planned) this time and my midwife has told me recovery will be easier due to not labouring.

I had an emergency c-section with my last baby. Was supposed to be a scheduled one but I went into labor. I labored for 10 hours before they made the decision to go ahead with the c-section. I have had 2 previous c-sections and I found my last one recovery wise was harder. My body hurt all over because I had been in labor. And my incision took much longer to heal. It was pretty awful on me.
