Anybody know what this rash could be?

My baby is 6 days old & about 3 days ago this rash showed up. I took him to the doctor, & he said to keep a close eye on it but didn't really have an absolute answer to what it might be! You guys have any idea? It doesn't seem to bother him at all. We've been putting neosporin on him twice a day (as directed by his doctor).

I'd definitely change diapers and use an unscented laundry detergent if you aren't already.

I've never seen that before. I'm surprised your doctor said to put neosporan on it. I would think they would say just a dap of alcohol in each spot. To dry it out.  We used alcohol in babies umbilical cord to dry it out and preven infection when it was detached by my husband.

Looks like a bacterial infection. I would get a second opinion. Small little pus bumps. Probably not an allergy. I work for a dermatologist and we see this frequently in adults

I would change diapers and possibly laundry detergent. Quit using Neosporin, Neosporin can cause a yeast infection on the skin. I would almost suggest getting a second opinion. I'm sure your baby will be just fine, just keep giving sponge baths and try to use all hypoallergenic soap, diapers, wipes, ect. If you're breastfeeding keep a food diary of what you eat and what the rash looks like each day. Good luck! Everything will be okay.

That looks a lot like the rash my eldest got from the diapers. We changed brands and it went away. I'm surprised the doc suggested neosporin since that's kind of strong for a newborn...
