Does anyone have a short luteal phase?

This is my second cycle of tracking and both times I have started to spot with brown on 8dpo and AF has started on 9dpo. It's heartbreaking - even if there is a fertilised embryo, it doesn't stand a chance. 
I know that there is a problem and feel so helpless.

I took vitex for short luteal phase as this was happening with me... i had a chemical 1st cycle using vitex (so i assume it lengthened it but not quite enough) and then i got pregnant again 2nd cycle (i am now 6-7 weeks)

Update - I've done lots of reading and have bought some vitamin b6 as it decreases serum oestrogen and increases the progesterone to lengthen the luteal phase. I'm worried that I may not be ovulating as this seems to be the most common cause of a short luteal phase. I get the positive OPKs but it isn't a guarantee of a successful ovulation.

Just an update...I know that I always search through the ttc forums to see what worked/didn't work for different people. After adding the B6 supplements & Vitex, my 2nd last cycle went down to an 8 day luteal phase. Then the last cycle's luteal phase was only 6 days. My ovulation was also a week later too in the end, but the LH was much stronger when I finally did ovulate too. 
I decided to finally see the GP & get blood work taken. Get the results from the GP tomorrow & see a fertility specialist in a couple of weeks. I'm excited to finally get my cycles under control!

I'm on my TWW on my 2nd cycle of TTC. On my first cycle, my luteal phase was only 9 days long too. I had a temperature spike after ovulation, then my temperatures continually went down straight away until AF. I'm 2DPO & I'm considering getting my hormones tested. I've read that a short luteal phase can be due to low progesterone. 
I've also been on Maca this month, as I've read that it can assist in hormone regulation. I'm hoping that my luteal cycle will at least be longer than 9 days this time around! 🤞🏻

Are you positive about when you ovulated? Docs can help with a luteal phase defect if you do have one
