Bleeding in early pregnancy

I had sex and had slight spotting which I know can happen but when I woke up the next morning to use the bathroom there was a little more blood and a clot came out. I am only 5 weeks pregnant and I do not have cramps at all. What should I do isn't it to early for a sono?
