Anyone else have a "break" in their period?

Does anyone else experience a "break" in their period? This has become my norm ever since I got off of birth control and I think it's really strange... I flow very heavily for the first two days, then Day 3 NOTHING and sometimes Day 4 NOTHING then all of a sudden it starts back up again but it is lighter or spotty until the end.

How does that happen? How does it stop completely for 2 days then start again... I've never heard of this happening to other women before. Is this normal?
