should I get bottles just in case?

Question

I'm planning to only do breastfeeding and I want to only breastfeed at home but when I go out I feel like I will not be comfortable breastfeeding in public. I know there is nothing wrong with breastfeeding in public but if people stare I will feel extremely uncomfortable because I am a very shy person and I don't like to be stared at. If I get bottles I will only use them when I go out somewhere. If I don't get any bottles I will probably go to the bathroom to breastfeed but I'm not too comfortable with that either. I could wear a cover but I'm not sure if that will be too hot for my baby because I live in south Florida. What should I do?

You can get this breastfeeding set by kiinde and you pump directly into the little milk bags and you just pop it into one of the kiinde bottles and throw the Baggie out when it's empty and continue using the bottle pieces. Super convenient and no hassle in having to transfer milk into bottles ❤️

Definitely get a few bottles! I had all hopes and dreams of breastfeeding and tried my best for weeks after baby was born. I pumped at first but had to end up FF. So always be prepared.

I am shy and extremely non-confrontational, so I usually just fed baby in the car before going into the store or if needed, take baby out to the car and then go back in when finished. If in a restaurant, again I would try feeding right before going in, but babies don't always cooperate. We always sit in a booth anyway, so we're always pretty blocked off (though I really only remember having to feed in a restaurant 1 time) and had no issues.

If bottle feeding in public will make you more comfortable, that's fine too. Just keep in mind that any feeding you miss (and do not pump in its place) will work toward lowering your milk supply. So each time you bottle feed instead of nursing, technically, you should still pump at that time in order to keep your supply up.

I planned on EBF and ended up exclusively pumping because my LO would not latch. Definitely suggest having at least a few bottles just in case. You can always get more of need be.

With my first I always took bottles of breast milk when we were out bc I was the same way.  It was so much more work tho. Once my second came along, I never brought bottles of milk, just nursed him. I'm not comfortable nursing in public even with a cover, so I always went to my car.

You may still want to breast feed while you are out because your boobs will be very full and could start to hurt. They could get infected if you don't release enough It's easier to get a light cover or an infinity scarf and nurse under there than have to worry about milk going bad in bottles and your boobs leaking

If you're in a store with a changing room then you can use that, or sit on the car. I'm not comfortable just pulling my boob out in public either. I sat in many changing rooms or my car. I never used a bathroom - there's always other options. 
I would get bottles for when you want to leave baby with a babysitter. But it is honestly easier to just breastfeed baby while out. Less stuff you have to carry 😜
