E.A.S.Y. Method
My sister told me about the EASY method during my first night at home with the baby. E is Eat. A is activity. S is Sleep. Y is you time. When the baby wakes up, the first thing you do is feed them (Eat). Then they associate waking up with eating. Then you do some sort of activity. Burping, changing diaper, talking, reading, singing, playing, etc. (Activity). Then you attempt to put them back to sleep. (Sleep, obviously lol). Once they are asleep, it's considered "You Time." So you can rest, cook, clean, read, etc. whatever you want or need to do while the baby is sleeping. It has been working out really well for me so far. It helps me feel like I have some control over things, instead of wondering what the baby needs to do next. My daughter (3 weeks old) is responding well to this method. Just thought I would share! I'm pretty sure there is an entire book written about this method.
