Do I rely on my in laws too much?

I'm a FTM and my newborn is 6 weeks old. 2-3 times a week either my MIL visits and I visit her so I can have a nap or clean the house. Plus she usually baby sits for an hour on the weekend so my husband and I can do something together. Anyways I feel horrible about it, like I should be able to manage better without there help. Is this normal?

That's a normal amount of help. Women have been help each other raise babies since the dawn of time. Some cultures encourage living together and raising children with grandparents. It makes their bond stronger. Don't worry- get your naps, and have your dates.

I breastfeed and never really pumped so hes only been babysat 2ce lol when i had a driving test and at the dentist recently... not long enough to need a bottle

But if it works for you and your mil doesnt mind i dont see it being too much

To each their own I suppose as long as the kids cared for loved and spends one on one time with you the parents. I lived at home with my first child but even then my mom had me young and her mom made her take me everywhere. So I was treated with same principles I haven't been on a date since before my first child was born. My help is more so financial than breaks. So please enjoy it!
