Im 5 weeks pregnant I'm having a really bad pain in my stomach and cramps. i also get pain in my sides... Is it normal?

If it's really bad then probably not good. Go for a blood test to make sure your levels are where they should be. If you start bleeding go to the ER. 
If it's just a little, could be normal stretching of your uterus.
