time to start getting test done

just started my period today (which it arrived 3 days early) and my husband and I made the decision that if it didn't happen this month we would start getting tests done and talking with my doctor.

it's been about 1 1/2 years since we stopped birth control and nothing has happened. I used opks and cked cm. I went months not tracking anything and not worrying.

feel like it's time to ask for help and hope that it will be an easy fix. I just have a feeling that it could be him since he is stressed alot from work so hope to have his sperm checked first. and then start checking me out.

if anyone has any insight or anything really, it's much appreciated.
