I voted Descartes, more because he was a fantastic scientist and mathematician, which I believe positively impacted his philosophy work. 
I don't really buy his theory of dualism though, and I like Locke's and Voltaire's promotion of religious liberty and natural rights. So it was hard! 
I'm not familiar with West tho lol. 
Honestly I think Rousseau is the best of the modern philosophers tho.
