To find out gender or not?

Question

I was looking for some input! My husband and I have been going back and forth about finding out what we're having or not. He really doesn't want to find out at all. I feel like I don't want to be unprepared as this is our first! I feel like it's one of the only true surprises you'll have in life, but I'm such a planner! So I'm having a little trouble but also think it would be an amazing surprise! Just looking for some others stories about what you're experience was! 
Did you find out or keep a surprise? What was your experience?

I found out with my first and it was alright... but I didn't find out with my last two and won't be finding out with this one either and this is why. When my first was born I knew she was going to be a girl there was. I surprise there was nothing really exciting to take my mind off of what just happened (her birth was very traumatic) When my son was born even though his delivery was insane (11lbs6oz unmedicated) the second they said it's a boy my brain completely locked on that everything else didn't matter it was a complete surprise and it switched the whole energy in the room! And it was the same with my last baby! My husband was so excited to announce what the baby was and was a little shocked to see how swollen little girls are when they are born (this was his first daughter) he almost said boy and was like no that's a GIRL! And again my brain completely blocked out everything and was just over joyed at having a healthy little girl. I don't know if that makes sense but there really is something magical about not finding out if the baby is a boy or a girl until they are born! 😍

We chose to not fine out with our first (now one year old) and it was the best decision we've ever made. I understand the "planning" part but, at the same time sometimes a color is just a color & it's fun to get out of the house post baby and buy things for them. 
The best part? When it was time to push I was READY and so EXCITED to finally meet them. Plus, we are pregnant now with our second and we have a TON of gender neutral items so we don't need to purchase a lot more

We found out with our first and kept the name a secret until she was born. We plan to do the same with this one. I loved surprising everyone with the gender and being able to shop! My theory is you are surprised either way, it's just a matter of when. We are planning on having just two kids, so the other plus is that if we find out this one is a boy I can clear out all the baby girl clothes I saved! ;)

I'm choosing not to find out and even though my guy does want to know, he said that he was ok with my decision. I'm excited!

I think you can be just as surprised doing a gender reveal 💙💗 and that way, as you said you're a planner, you can spend all the time you need preparing and buying cute little outfits💕 I know I wouldn't want gender neutral ESPECIALLY for a girl 🙅🏼

I found out with my first two children. I have a daughter and a son. With this pregnancy we are not finding out because we already have everything we need. I am very type A so I needed to know but I feel with this pregnancy it really doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl.

This is my third and I haven't found out for any of them. My partner was the same he didn't want to know so I respected that (even though I was desperate to know because I am a planner also), and I told myself that I will find out very soon! It's not like you're never going to know! I'm so glad I didn't found out as it made that day so very very special. After that I was completely sold on not finding out the gender as it truely adds something to their birthday!

I didn't find out with my first and won't with this one either! When I had my shower people focused on what I needed rather than get loaded up on baby clothes which was nice plus I can reuse the stuff for this baby since the expensive items were gender neutral. 
Aside from that, not finding out made the day so much more exciting for me and my family! What a blast to go and tell people it was a girl!

I guess it depends on if and why you care
I wanted to know with my first, I just knew I was having a girl but I wanted to be sure. 
With this one, I want to know so i can know if I should save some of the stuff I have from my first daughter. 
I also do not like gender neutral crap. Some of it is nice, most of it just looks like boys stuff. And I like to personalize their things and their room. And I like to have a name ready! My husband and I took over seven months of my first pregnancy to agree on a name... I can't imagine if we had waited to k ow and decide until she was born!

We found out with our first ones. We have three boys and I am determined not to find out this time. That way I can pretend it's a girl longer!! Lol
