I feel like the majority of people who eat fast food consume it because of how cheap it is. I mean think about the price of going to a grocery store to prepare a salad compared to a hamburger off the $1 menu. Taxing the fast food industry is just going to create more poverty. If they can't afford to go to the store to provide a healthy meal how are they going to afford to be taxed daily for their food? I'm not just talking one person either. I'm talking single mothers, low-income families, etc. Many Americans today live in food deserts as it is. This is just going to expand the gap between the rich and poor. There are other ways to stop obesity then taxing foods.

Maybe not? I think it must be cheaper in the US or something because it can cost quite a bit here, that would make it overly expensive I think. Instead there should simply be healthier options that don't cost so much 🤷‍♂️

No:/ far too many low income people depend on fast food to eat. I'd be for fast food places having healthier options at lower costs, but not increasing cost. There were days the only thing my two sisters and I had to eat were the cheap ass burritos from taco bell and our mom didn't have any more than one for herself, the grown adult working days and nights.

Fast food in the US is SO cheap!  It costs twice as much in Canada.

Only if they make healthier food more accessible and cheaper in return, otherwise it would hurt people who are poor. Unfortunately I feel that people choose fast food because it's cheaper and healthier food is sadly more of a luxury to get. If healthier options were in poorer areas and cheap than I'd be all for taxing fast food but that's not how it is atleast currently
