How did you tell them?

Question

As a pregnant teen, how did you tell your parents and friends that you were pregnant? What were their reactions?

My dad still doesn't know.. I'm 22 weeks. And I was waiting for my mom to get back from vacation but ppl already told her:( my mom has been soo supportive about everything

I went to the hospital because I had been throwing up & just really sick in general. Both my Dad & I found out there.

I went to my moms house and had her sit down. When we were both sitting she came out and said "you're pregnant, aren't you?" My mom was a little disappointed but after talking to her and telling her that me and my boyfriend were gonna keep the baby and try buying the house we were looking at, she came around. Now she insists I let her have my son one night a week. My dad on the other hand is still trying his hardest to get my boyfriend put in prison (even after he drove all the way to the town I live in and had the police come to my home, and they told him there was nothing he could do) . I was 16 when I got pregnant... He was 20.

It just all comes down how your relationship is with your parents and how they feel about you taking responsibility for your decisions.

I told my mom right when I found out, and I only told my dad last weekend (im 12weeks) now. Both were shocked but with my mom being a teen mom, she's been super supportive. It really depends on how your family is and the situation you were in with getting pregnant. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 years, so they know he's going to be there for me and also I was on birth control.. Lol. I was actually at the doctors renewing my prescription when I found out. At the end of the day though, your parents love you and they should support you :) it seems a lot scarier than it is.
