I have to go for a labaroscopy at some point I have to wait intill the start if my first period but they told me I had to be put on birth control before I have it does anyone know why I would have to be put on birth control before I had it I just figured like don't it defeat the purpose of trying for a baby can anyone help.

My doctor gave me birth control before my laparoscopic surgery, but it was only for like a week to stall my period because I was due to start around the time of surgery.

I went for a laparoscopy in November last year and was not put on birth control and I haven't been on birth control for years. Not sure why they would require that.
