Thoughts?

I'm a teen and I heard that the IUD is one of the best forms of birth control but I've never had sex and I wanted to be on birth control before I do have intercourse, but I've heard a lot of "horror" stories concerning the IUD.

I heard that it hurts when it's installed (especially if you've never been pregnant.) And I haven't even HAD sex yet so I can only imagine the amount of pain I'd go thru. Also, I heard that it causes severe cramps and my cramps are already bad. Then I heard that it can fall out, and the chances of it falling out increases if you've never had a baby, but that also, it causes heavy bleeding and irregular periods...

Out of all of that, I also heard that it's 99.99% effective. So if anyone has ever had the IUD before (copper or hormonal) could you tell me your experience? Have you ever been pregnant before? And did any of that happen to you? Should I just go with the pill?

---Thanks in advance for all the replies.
