Has anyone ever had different side effects after stopping depo & going back on it? I was on depo for about 2 1/2 years and my doctor told me I needed to get off of it ( possible bone density loss and what not) but I never had any of the horrible symptoms like major weight gain, acne flare ups, moodiness, or headaches. I then had Nexplanon for a week (got it removed after being inserted incorrectly). I was then on Jolessa for about a month, I then decided that since I was not in a relationship nor looking to be sexually active I would let my body try to regulate itself. A few months later I found my current boyfriend and decided I wanted to get back on Depo since it worked the best for me. Doctor agreed and I got my first injection in October. I've had all my required doses since, but it seems that my last 2 shots have given me some possible side effects. My acne definitely flares up now (usually around what a "typical" period time would be except I don't get a period besides some very light spotting or discharge). And I have gained about 20 pounds in the last 3ish months (115-118 to about 130-135). (Granted, I could just be gaining weight like any normal person), but I haven't really changed my eating or workout habits from what they normally are. I have started to be more strict on my diet following the 80/20 rule (80% good/clean eating, 20% not so great stuff) and I've been exercising occasionally.

Really, I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else & to see if I should start looking in to other birth controls if these side effects are going to continue like this.
