Need your help ladies

I went to l&d; 2 days ago for shortness of breath and swelling and when they hooked me up, I was having contractions 5-7 mins apart but couldn't feel them pain wise, just the shortness of breath with them. She checked and said I was 2cm and 50% thinned and they gave me medicines to stop the contractions and sent me home with it. I followed up with my ob yesterday and he said I was still around a 2 but also still having contractions, even with procardia pills. Me and hubby did have sex yesterday but no bleeding or anything. I got up this morning and when I used the bathroom, out came my mucus plug! My question is... how long was it after that for you ladies? Considering I've been having contractions already and am dilated.. and I'm 35.2 weeks today also!
