Feeding Chronicles: Frustrated Husband & Angry Baby Edition
We're trying to get our daughter to breastfeed and take the bottle. I asked my husband to do it since I read that I should leave the house during bottle feeding time.
We started with 1 bottle during her 6th week and my husband said she did great. But the next week, she wouldn't take it although that time I just tried to go to a different part of the house and I also realized my husband wasn't heating the milk enough.
After that every time I suggested for him to try a bottle again that week he declined, and told me to breastfeed her. He agreed to do a bottle this week (she's now 8wks), and she drank a bit, but was crying and super hungry when I got back to the house. So at that point he's frustrated and she's frustrated as well.
- How long did it take for your LO to accept a bottle?
- Should I try a new bottle brand even though he said she was fine the first time?
- My husband swears she needs fast flow (and I do have a strong letdown/fast slow which my LO is fine with), but should we switch to slow flow?
- If he refuses to do it, should I try? We don't have any close relatives nearby to help out.
If you have any tricks please send them my way! Currently using ComoTomo bottles.
