Pockets of fluid on nipples?

I am currently 3 days postpartum and pumping every 3 hours since my baby is in the NICU. I have what looks like little pockets of fluid on my nipples? When they break open it's just clear fluid. Is this normal? What causes this?

Talk to the hospital lactation consultant. This isn't normal. Maybe you need different size flanges.

Sounds like your pump is too aggressive maybe try pumping slower and on a lower setting
