Illegal to not put dads name on birth certificate?

The father is a drug addict and isn't doing anything to get better. I don't want him to be in our sons life if it continues like this. So is it illegal to not put his name on the birth certificate even though I know he's the father?

I'm going thru the same thing..i have an open case on his stalking and harassment now he keeps saying watch ur back and asurring he will be at hospital at birth and he scares me :(

It up to you if you want his name on Their or not . They will ask you once you go into labor
