So what's up with the blue dye test? Are they not accurate?

Exactly what Savannah said. You can almost always see a faint blue line, so it tricks you into thinking its a positive. Unless its a blaring positive, I don't trust them. Ive had several false positives on them. 
Also, if you have someone tweak the photo, you can always pull a line. I would only recommend pink dye tests

I would say don't trust faint lines on a blue dye. I did a experiment with sis who has her tubes tied. She took one of the blue dyes and got a faint line 😑
