IUD Strings Lost!?

Question

So I went to get my iud checked today ( I got it placed in may) because I couldn't feel the strings. They told me that they couldn't see the strings either and that I need to get an ultrasound done. Has anyone been in the same situation? Help!

I had that happened I went for a routine check up and they couldn't find it. I got an ultrasound done and even X-rays done and nothing. According to  my doctor it must of came out on its own witch I find really weird bcs I feel I could of seen it when it came out but unless it was all bloody when I had my period or something and it came out then. I don't know its still really weird I've never Hurd of anything like that before. So never again I could of gotten pregnant and not even no it. I ended up switching birth controls. Maybe yours just moved.

So mine were mia; but I hadn't felt mine and they kept telling me it was normal. After a regular ultrasound, transvaginal and X-ray they did surgery and found it floating in my pelvis. Mine perforated during insertion - which I highly suspected but they did not. It seems pretty rare to actually have this happen.. so I'd just be ready for ultrasounds and an X-ray if needed.
