30s and TTC

Im 28 and doing masters. Will get married only close to 30. Which means I want to have baby only after that. Is it alright to have 1 st baby after 30? How best should I prepare myself? I've had PCOD when I was young. And I generally have an irregular period :(. I'm concerned a lot! Suggestions please.
