It's very dependant on the relationship and the two people involved in that relationship. Personally, I'd never say yes unless we'd been together at least 4yrs. That's just me though, I really want to ensure that my relationship is solid. My fiancé and I waited till almost 5yrs to get engaged. That was the right time for us.

i think it depends on your stage of life. If you are trying to have kids after marriage or if you are older. Those are factors. Personally, I think after 2 yrs you would have been through a variety of situations with your SO and that should let you know if they are what you want for your future.

It really depends on so many factors, when I was young I thought that you could know someone after A year together. Boy was I wrong I have them with my fiancé for 13 years and still sometimes I'm surprised by him. We got engaged five years ago and have been in no rush. We have had a common law marriage for several years so it doesn't really matter but I really feel it is different for everyone. Some of my best friends have gotten married after a few years and it just wasn't right. A lot of people think marriage will make something better and it really doesn't. I have seen couples get together and break up after being married two months, I have seen couples get together and be married happily for years after being together for a short time it just depends on the two people.
