Diaper stockpiling?

Any of you stocking up on diapers throughout your pregnancy? I've heard conflicting stories of women who stockpiled a certain brand and when the baby came the diapers that they bought did not work for them. I'm thinking about purchasing a gift cards throughout instead to use once we figure out what works best. Any thoughts? I'm wondering what store has the best prices? I'm thinking Target or Walmart.

Target and walmart brand diapers are great! Just as good as the "name" brands. They arent as scented as the other brands too!
I didnt stockpile at all with my first and i regretted it. I'm buying about 3-5 boxes of each size through my pregnancy this time :)

Target brand has been our lifesaver diaper, they're amazing. Pampers gave ours an awful rash to the point of skin peeling. The way I did it was I got different sizes but in the small packs of different brands

I did while I was pregnant and Im so glad I did. My LO is 6 months and I haven't had to buy diapers yet!! I did pampers cause that's what was most recommend to me and that's been great. Just get a couple boxes of each size cause they grow really fast! If your worried about the brand just buy from Walmart with your card and you can always exchange

I recommend having a diaper raffle at your baby shower or have your so have a diaper party. At a diaper raffle, you put a note in the invite explaining that guests get an entry into a raffle at the shower for every pack of diapers they bring. Then you draw raffle tickets throughout the shower (we did like five winners that way). And for a diaper party, your so does a party- provides beer and food and his friends bring diapers! 
We didn't have to purchase diapers until our baby was 7 months old! Also got to try every brand out there. 
I wouldn't stockpile any one particular brand. As you said, they are all so different and so are babies!
