Can pregnancy make you lactose intolerant?

So I've never had problem with anything diary before. Since being pregnant my biggest craving is ice cream, I probably have it at least every other day. The past couple of weeks I HAVE to use the bathroom immediately after. I'm wondering if you can develop this during pregnancy?

I can have dairy more when I'm pregnant, but shellfish affect me more.

Ive been lactose intolerant since my 2nd child 9yrs ago. Before that i could drink milk, eat ice cream with no problem. Now i have take lactaid pills before eating ice cream

i think so. i was already lactose pre pregnancy, but was able to still eat dairy... since getting pregnant, thats out the window. i throw it right up or have severe diarrhea lol. Thanks son for taking the good stuff from me.

I was lactose intolerant before pregnancy. Now that I'm pregnant (26weeks) I'm able to eat ice cream and drink milk without my stomach hurting or needing the bathroom. It's crazy!

Basically means your baby will be lactose intolerant...i was allergic to chocolate with my last son. It was horrible! But I'm not now and he was until he was almost 3. Although i would trade an allergy for the diabetes i have with this son. Ijs

Yes it can. With this baby I am completely lactose and egg intolerant. I hate it, I feel like I can't eat anything any more and it's a bit depressing. The only good thing is it is helping me keep the weight gain down haha.

A friend of mine was totally fine her first pregnancy but after she had her second kiddo she's become lactose intolerant. She just kind of assumed it was from being pregnant

I don't think it can.. I think our stomachs are just a lot more sensitive. I drink milk all the time, and since being pregnant, I've had to use the bathroom after drinking it.. like within an hour or so.. not so much with ice cream or cheese, but milk all by itself gets me.
