Who throws the baby shower?

Who is suppose to throw a baby shower for you? My mom doesn't seem interested but I thought moms were suppose to.

Anyone can throw a baby shower. Your mom, siblings, friends, work friends, doesn't matter. If your mom doesn't seem up to it because of all the work that goes into it, tell her you'll help her or just throw it yourself :)

Traditional etiquette (note like traditional from the 1940/1950s haha) would say not the grandparents or parents of the baby as a shower is seen as something where you get presents.

But it's pretty common now for really anyone to host.

Traditionally it cannot be the mother/father or the grandparents.
This is what my family follows.
Typically it is hosted by cousins and aunts of the mommy to be:). Hope this helps!

My mom and granny threw my first and my other grandma threw another one (I have a big family on both sides so we had to break it up lol) and my co workers gave me a small one at work. I was very blessed with everyone we have around us.

My mother in law threw my first one with my daughter who is 9. My sister in law is throwing my shower this time. I think anyone can throw it. I've gone to a shower where the mom to be threw it.

My mom, step mom, and boyfriends mom are throwing me one but I'm still very much involved. I picked out my cake, the theme, the hall where I want it, and the games and prizes lol they're going to decorate for me and pay for everything and then I'm having other family members like my dad and grandparents cook the meals. My moms making my cake and desserts because she bakes as a side job!

I think it's really whoever wants to.... I told my mom I didn't want one (I live in NC all family is in IN/MI) and she told me I didn't have a choice 🤷🏻‍♀️
