What's your thoughts on self defense?

Seen this on Facebook, and a lot of the comments really had me questioning what people would really do if this happened to them? As a home owner and being pro gun, I would've done the same thing as this lady. What's your thoughts on home invasions and self defense?

If someone enters my home unannounced, you will be greeted by dogs and a laser pointed straight at your head or chest.

EDIT: no need to bash anyone for being pro gun or not liking them, just a simple question on your opinions.
