Pregnancy Rhinitis and Sleep Apnea

Bianca

So I'm not sure how to go about all this, but ever since about 6 weeks of pregnancy I realized I could no longer breathe through my nose. I've always thought I had a deviated septum but didn't know for sure. And before pregnancy it would be hit and miss but usually I could breath through my nose at night for a majority of nights. Now I can't at all. On top of that, my sleep apnea which has never been diagnosed but I usually have it more at above 270 lbs. with my last pregnancy I capped out at 275 at delivering so I never sought treatment. I got up to 280 a couple of months ago but I've lost over 20 lbs in two months now. I think I have hypermesis gervaidum because I can't function without zofran anymore and throw up and have stomach issues constantly. I know this seems like I'm whining and I'm trying to be a trooper about it but it's been really hard this pregnancy and I I now regret telling everyone that I love being pregnant because now I'm down right miserable. It's my daughters fault she made the first pregnancy downright pleasant.

So the nutshell of this is that my sleep apnea is now worse than ever and is exasperated by the pregnancy rhinitis. At this point who do I see to get things moving to fix this? Cause I can't keep living this way, it freaks my husband out at night and it makes me moody and miserable. Do I just tell my OB and they refer me? Should I go see my internist and go from there? Does Medicaid or traditional insurance usually cover sleep studies?

Also I'm almost 10 wks pregnant now.
