Ex boyfriend

So here's the thing when my ex and I were together we were best friends first before we started to date and dating him was great. He then moved for school and with everything going on for him and myself there wasn't time for a relationship but said to each other that our friendship was important to us and didn't want to lose that. Then awhile later(a few months) he had a different girlfriend they dated for awhile and then I started getting dirty texts (while still with that gf). I never did anything and then randomly I got cut out of his life😢. They are now broken up and we have slept together but now he's calling me babe and baby and I don't know how to take it. Help me.
