gift idea for my SO. help?

Christmas is a while a way but I wanted to get a gift for my man. He has a sneaker obsession so I wanted to get him a pair of Jordans he really wanted. The thing is they were only exclusive to a 3 places in the world. Since they're so rare people are reselling online for $600+. Would I be crazy to spend that much money on a pair of shoes?
