I am a vet tech of 8 years. If you have a pet, please keep them on heartworm and flea prevention every month all year round. Heartworms can't be seen outside the body and can kill your pet. Even indoor only pets can get heartworm and fleas. Heartworm prevention also deworms every month, so you are keeping your household safer from roundworms, hookworms, and other parasites (some of which can be transmitted from pets to humans!)
