Pregnant & SO problems

So I've been friends with this guys for 2 years.. he's always been there for me, I've always been there for him. Well we started talking a few months ago back on June. And then we started sleeping together in July. Well turns out I'm pregnant now. I told him tonight and he says "that he is not going to stop talking to me" and that "he'll be there" but he doesn't want anyone to know about the baby for a long time. He has a son and he said "he is doing good to pay the child support for him". And I'm confused.. is this basically his nice way of saying he doesn't want anything to do with the baby? Because if so.. I don't need someone like him in my life. I'm extremely hurt because he's like last person I expected to hear that from. He's always been there for me. And he says "he's not going to stop talking to me" but how else am I supposed to take that when he says "dont tell anyone it's mine for a while"
