Sleeping stomach/back?

How long can you sleep on your stomach? And why is it bad to sleep in your back?? FTM over here with no clue what she's doing! 😅

Apparently sleeping on your back can cause pressure on a blood vessel that goes to your legs and to your baby. I looove sleeping on my back and my husband will wake me up to make me turn on my side if he notices me on my back. I'm 34 weeks now. I can't wait to sleep on my back again!

You'll know when to stop. Basically you won't be comfortable!! I'm 28 weeks, and I've always been a stomach sleeper, but I can't now because it's not physically possible!! Don't worry about harming baby, your body will make sure it's way uncomfortable!!

I am 24 weeks 5 days. I still sleep on my back and belly. Although when I sleep certain ways I wake up to a numb hand/ arm. I believe the reason you are not suppose to sleep on your back is that it limits blood flow to the baby. Although, I find that to be the most comfortable position right now.

When you lie on your back, the weight of your uterus presses on the major vein that returns blood from your lower body to your heart. Lying on your back for an extended period of time could make you feel dizzy. It could also interfere with the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta and your developing baby.

There's no problem lying on your stomach in early pregnancy. At this point, your uterus is still nestled behind your pubic bone, so it's totally protected. Later in your pregnancy, sleeping on your stomach just isn't going to be comfortable. You'd be too uncomfortable to want to do it long before you could ever hurt your baby.
