Baby Shower after your first?

Are baby showers appropriate when it isn't your first kid? I have such mixed feelings. I didn't have a shower for my second daughter (only 19 months after my first) because we had everything. Tragically, she passed away during labor. Now I'm 30 weeks with my rainbow baby and not sure what to do. On one hand, I want to celebrate each and every day I'm blessed with this pregnancy. I want to do it all. On the other hand, i don't want to jinx the dirt and celebrate a child that I haven't had yet. It's not about the registry (even though we do need some help there), but showering (or sprinkling) this nugget with love. What are your thoughts? Should I throw myself a shower or just wait and have a "meet the baby" party?!
