breastmilk gone bad ??

Hi mamas! So I have frozen breastmilk from  May so no longer than 3 months in the freezer. I defrosted it and noticed it smelled off so I tasted it and YUCK! I then tried the June and July frozen milk and although they didnt taste quite as bad was still off. Finally I defrosted and tasted the august milk only a few days frozen and it tasted fine . So question is the may-July milk bad or does it just change taste over time ? I thought milk lasted 3-6 months in freezer so I am not sure what to do have a lot of milk and hate to waste it

Try reading on kellymom about lipase in frozen breastmilk. Not sure if that's what you're experiencing. If it is, it's perfectly safe and most babies still drink it. And I know it doesn't help all the bags of milk you currently have, but for the future, there's also a way to prevent it by scalding it before freezing. 
If it really is spoiled, the only thing I can think is maybe your freezer temp isn't up to par 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don't know how else it could go bad in just 3 months

as a general rule, frozen breast milk last 2-3months in your regular house freezer and 5-6months in a deep freezer. if it tastes off toss it, better safe than sorry, but also could depend on if the may stuff was right when baby was born as it would then have more colostrum in it than anything from later. also if you are freezing, it's best to make sure ALL AIR is removed from the bag and that you freeze it IMMEDIATELY not leaving it out or refrigerate first.
