Here in the UK, when I had my Son, it was very much different!

He was born at 0929 and I went home at 1430 (same day!)

Without an epidural I think it's 24 hours with one I think 48 (but that's just my hospitals in the area) every state and hospital is different I would call labor and delivery and ask. Csection I know is 4-5 days because it's major surgery and you will appreciate that time to relax and take it easy before you have to go home to regular life again. I always take the 48 hours in the hospital and never leave early because it gives me time to rest and relax and bond with my baby before dishes laundry and life continues especially with a 8&6 yr old waiting for me there this time. And if you test or rip and require stitches they will manage your pain while your there with pain meds which help a lot!!

My first I stayed two days my second and third barely 24hrs I asked to be released early I had an epidural with  all three but being an RN who worked in maternity the hospital was the last place we wanted to be lol

If no difficulty.. My first baby was a breeze no problems - 3 days! 
Hoping the same for my second due in July
