I think I'm pansexual (so I don't know if this counts) bisexual is just girls and boys, but pansexual is inclusive of all genders and sexualities, so no, ur mom or anyone else is not right for saying that, even though it's a common mistake

My mum knows nothing about sexualities. She's not ignorant she just has no idea, u guess because it was never a topic we needed to talk about. One of my friends is pan and I had to explain to her what that means. Maybe your mum doesnt really know either? It's not uncommon for that generation of people to not know all about sexualities.

If anyone tells you, your sexuality isn't real turn around and slap them.  I've had a friend who I thought would be support cause her sister is into girls, told me I wasn't asexual because she wasn't.

Many people think that before fully understanding. I even have a gay friend who thinks that same way. But being Pan is more inclusive of all genders, sexualities, and souls. I like to tell people I get attracted to people just for who they are and what all I find attractive about them; anatomy isn't an issue for me 😊
