Nightmares?!

This is baby 3, and we are having a boy.  And I remember having crazy dreams with my first, but nothing this wild...

Over the last week, I've had nightmares about my first to children being taken from me in some way or another. (Having to hold them while they were shot, car crashes that I'm the only survivor, them being murdered in our new house, them being kidnapped.  Like, it's crazy)

Please tell me I'm not losing my mind. Is anyone else experiencing these crazy dreams? What in the world could my mind be doing?! I literally was so distraught last night that I ran into their room and climbed into my toddlers bed with him.

When I was pregnant with my son my husband and I lived apart and I had a nightmare that him and his dad cut the baby out of me so I killed them. I was so upset I called my husband at 4 am and made him get out of bed and check to make sure his dad was alive. Maybe it's boys that give the scary dreams cuz I am expecting a girl now and the dreams I have are vivid weird and sometime a little on the erotic side. I had to stop watching tv before bed or that would literally be what I dream about that night. You are sure not alone. My hubby gave up playing the   "who had a weird dream" game cuz I always win! Who knows what these babies do to our brains!

You are NOT loosing your mind!  For me, this happens more when I am pregnant with our girls than our boys.  Expecting a girl this time, so the nightmares are back in full swing.  They always seem so real!!!  Yes, get up and check on everyone before going to the bathroom (up anyway...might as well) and then attempt to sleep again!  Horrible cycle.

About 8 weeks in I dreamed I was a mother cat who had just given birth to, and EATEN her litter of kittens. I woke up sobbing and told my husband I would make a horrible mother. That was the worst, but the nightmares are definitely an almost-nightly occurrence!

I've been having such disturbing/annoying dreams that I will refuse to go back to sleep just to avoid the dream restarting. Makes for one sleepy momma!

I've had several dreams in which my parents/brother have died or I've been on the verge of dying. Luckily, my husband usually wakes me up if I'm crying in my sleep, otherwise I can never wake up on my own during nightmares.

I've had tremendous nightmares and truly the weirdest dreams I've ever had during pregnancy. My horror scenarios are rarely personal with people I know but usually me witnessing or trying to stop some kind of attempt to blow up cities, destroy the world, or massacre large groups of people. I'm grateful when the dreams are just weird and not violent!
