When did you say the "L" Word?

Me and my bf have been together for over a year.  Is it normal that neither of us have ever said "I love you" or do you think it takes some people longer than others to get to that place?  What is your opinion?

I don't think there's anything wrong with waiting to say it. You need to be sure its an "I love YOU" and not an "I love this moment" or an "I'm so attracted to you".

I dropped the L bomb on our 1 year anniversary.  I'd fallen in love with him probably by the 6 month mark or so, but was scared to say it before him.  He moves slower than me & I didn't want to rush or pressure him.  Once I said it, he did too and I was relieved & even felt a little silly for having been so caught up in thinking waiting so long to say that word must MEAN something.  He showed me every day that he loved me, and still does.  That's what really matters.
