Already dilated?!

Question

36+6 weeks today. And my doc said that I am 1/2 a centimeter dilated. Is this normal? How fast will it progress from here?

My aunt was walking around 5 cm dilated for about 2 weeks. Unfortunately until you start having regular contractions, there's really no way to tell when you're going to go into labor.

You can be dilated for months. But your pretty close to being done anyways so I'd say you'll go in labor soon.

At my 36 week appointment I was already dilated to 3cm, I didn't dilate any more than that until 39 weeks but everybody is different so you could stay where you are for a while or you could move fast lol

It could be days, or it could be another week or two. Thankfully you're basically in the "safe zone" and baby should be fine if they come soon!
