Nurse Intake appointment via phone? Anyone familiar

Hi ladies I tried to schedule my first appointment with a well known hospital in my area and they said that first of a nurse will call met for the "intake" has anyone had an experience with a phone call first and then going in for the appointment? I'm 4 1/2 weeks by the way.

Yep, they also call it an ACOG I believe. It's just going over your medical and family history before your first appointment. Most providers like to review that before they see you. My call was a few weeks before my workup.

I have one scheduled at the end of the month. I'd rather just see my doctor right away like last time. My doc was private practice but she just joined one of the major health companies and will be doing things differently. Will they confirm the pregnancy?

I didn't get called but all the intake appt is, us a bunch of question. I wish they would have called me.

That's what kaiser does here and it was different with my first where we went in. I ended up doing it in person because I went in for an appointment, but that seems to be more common now.
