First time moms w/ no progress?

Starting to get discouraged at 38 weeks and 2 days. I've experienced no Braxton hicks, no loss of mucus plug, no dropping, and still not dilated...not even close according to my doctor. Anyone else this far along with no signs of labor?

I'm not a first time mom, BUT this will be my first labor as I had a rushed c-section with my first. I was only 1/2 a fingertip dilated this morning and am 39w3d. Not much else going on:/ I've just resigned to the fact that there is no such thing as a "due date". My little bambino will come when he is good and ready and if I stop obsessing over the due date, it's easier to just go with the flow. I'm in extreme discomfort and pain at times, too, and am trying to be patient but i understand how frustrating the "unknown" is when you hope that things are progressing and they aren't. Hang in there, mommas! Soon you will be holding your babes in your arms! :)

Same here! 40 + 2 now with no signs of impending labor. Just trying to take it one day at a time and trust that God has a perfect plan for us all! Prayers going out to everyone in the same boat!

Don't stress!  With my first I had no symptoms until the day she was born.  I lost my plug and dilated, water broke, and bam! She was born!

I'm 38w4d with my second and haven't dialated at all this time either. Everyone is different.

Yep! Same boat for me, I'm at 39w2d.... Lesson learned: next time I will tell myself a week past my due date! This last part has definitely been the hardest, but the good news is we're so close!

39+2 and absolutely no dilation/effacement. Baby has dropped but that's it! No BH, nothing. Ughhhhh.

I haven't had any Braxton hicks either. I didn't even know I had lost my mucus plug until my 38 week appt when I was checked. I was 1 cm and 50% effaced. I'll see where I am tomorrow at my 39 week appt.

39 weeks 2 days... Nothing happening here. Go in tomorrow for some cervical ripening - praying it works so we can start pitocin!  Doc doesn't want me going past due date due to age.... Perfect pregnancy otherwise!

I am 41 weeks today and getting induced on Sunday night (41 weeks 2 days)! My cervix is still closed, and I'm only about 50% effaced. My doctor is starting me off wth a cervix softener called cytotec every 4 hours when I get induced and once I'm 1.5-2cm dilated they'll start the pitocin. I was originally against being induced but they think I might be developing preeclampsia so it's safer to get baby out now!
